This performance was blessed with the presence of outstanding soloists, whose fine singing was a rare treat for audiences. Antonello Palombi’s Otello was inspiring. There were no vocal shortcuts here. Palombi gave the audience everything: fantastic phrasing, dramatic high notes, amazing decrescendo. One spine chilling moment after another.
